Getting the Most from an Auto Auction
My home is only a few blocks away from Manheim Auto Auction and I usually pass thousands of automobiles that are onsite everyday. The speed of which cars pass through the auto auction to their intended destinations is really amazing.

Dealers usually do not keep cars that have been traded in on their car lots. They would usually sell those automobiles to an automobile auction so that the vehicles can be resold to consumers or other dealerships. Used car dealerships get a great deal of their inventory from car auctions.

Since almost all of the auto auctions in my hometown are reputable, I’m sure that they check out the vehicles before they sell them. They don’t want to be to be held responsible for selling a lemon to a dealership.

Hopefully, the dealership also hire mechanics to go over the vehicles as well and look for anything that needs to be worked on or fixed before resale. A dishonest dealership will usually sell a car straight from the auto auction without actually looking over the vehicle.

An auto auction is usually held privately. Dealers are the only people who can attend and purchase from the automobile auction in my hometown. You can get a dealer to go to the vehicle auction and find a particular vehicle you want. It is almost impossible to personally walk into the car auction and buy a vehicle for a cheaper price than at a regular dealership.

I have purchased vehicles by asking a dealer to get a particular vehicle for me. However, it took the dealer several weeks to find the vehicle I was looking for with the right mileage and features that I was interested in. I was able to get a lower price by asking a dealer to find me something, but it was not so cheap that I had to question its condition.

Most of the cars that are on display at the auto auction are incredibly modern cars. There are rows of the exact same model and color of a particular vehicle but at least I know what cars are in demand.

The car auction has an excellent reputation because they don't purchase vehicles just for the sake of it. They always make sure that they purchase vehicles that are worthwhile and popular. I would fill my lots with vehicles from the automobile auction if I was a car dealer.
